Test rig for a wave powered generator featuring an electrically adjustable magnetic torque coupling.
High torque control surface actuator designed for the Airbus Racer helicopter project, providing 300Nm of end effector torque from a 1.2Nm motor. Complete drivetain was analysed using Solidworks Motion Analysis to prove principle.
All components were optimised for weight reduction, and exhaustively analysed in ANSYS prior to release. The whole project was delivered in less than 10 weeks.
This was a fun little project for one of our regular customers - a 1980's Honda CX500 turbocharger with the entire waste gate assembly missing.
With nothing more than a 1 square inch sketch in a Clymer manual to work from, we had to create a working wastegate...no problem!
This was the first of 3 assembly jigs we designed and built for a local manufacturer of pizza ovens - quite a different concept for us, we'd generally specialised in small scale precision parts up to this point!
